As a three-term Owen Sound Councillor from 2014 to 2026, I had the privilege of serving alongside Richard from 2014 to 2022.

Over those eight years, I watched Richard work tirelessly for our community. He consistently asked thoughtful and sometimes difficult questions, bringing a practical, common-sense approach to municipal decision-making. Richard has the ability to look beyond immediate issues and focus on Owen Sound's long-term future, both strategically and fiscally.

Richard has always been a strong advocate for economic development and open communication. He understands that a thriving community is about more than economic growth alone. His vision for supporting a safe, healthy, and welcoming community contributes directly to the City's long-term financial sustainability and overall quality of life.

During his time on Council, Richard played an important role in encouraging responsible growth and development, helping create an environment that attracted significant residential investment and strengthened confidence in our community.

Richard's passion for arts, culture, our public library, and Owen Sound's unique identity has remained constant throughout his years of public service. What I remember most from our time serving together is how deeply Richard genuinely cares about Owen Sound and the people who call it home. After eight years of working alongside him, I know the leader he is, and I am confident that his leadership, experience, and vision will help guide Owen Sound toward a strong and positive future.
