Hello!

With voting now underway, I want to share a few thoughts.

For some, Owen Sound is simply a place on a map. For us, it’s our home. It’s where we build our lives, raise our families, run our businesses, form friendships, and forge memories. It is a community with an extraordinary history and a bright future. 

I’m running for mayor because I believe in this city and what we can accomplish together. 

I believe Owen Sound needs leadership that listens, brings people together and approaches difficult decisions with thoughtfulness, respect and common sense. I believe we need to be responsible with taxpayers’ money, support local business, attract new investment, and create opportunities that let our community prosper. 

As I’ve gone door to door during this campaign, I’ve been constantly reminded that what matters most to residents isn’t political rhetoric. They want action on the persistent crisis in the downtown river district, taxes, transit, and other key issues, including family doctors, housing affordability, and community growth. 

I don’t believe I have all the answers. Good leadership means listening, asking questions, seeking different perspectives, and having the courage to make decisions in the community's best interests, even when they’re unpopular. 

If you give me the honour of serving as your mayor, I’ll bring that approach to City Hall every day. I’ll work hard, stay accessible, encourage collaboration, and never forget that public office is about service, not status. 

Whatever our differences, we all want the same thing for Owen Sound: an energetic, strong and welcoming city that we can be proud to call home. 

That is why I’m running, and that is what I’ll work towards.
